I Wasn’t Going to Start a Blog, But Here We Are
3rd April 2026
Okay, blog entry number one… here we go.
First, a little preface: I am not an influencer. I am not a photographer. I am not a cook. I am definitely not a lifestyle guru. Big nope to all of that.
God knows I too often utter things like ‘eh, I can’t be bothered’, or ‘I’ll do it at the weekend’. Or classics like ‘But it’s cold’, or ‘Fuck it, that’ll do’. And occasionally, particularly glamorous little gems like ‘why is there a cat hair in my food again?’. Not a phrase that I expect many food bloggers or lifestyle Instagrammers utter very often.

I can never just eat in peace.
Writing about myself doesn’t come naturally to me. I was good at English at school, but beyond that, writing never really called to me (I was more of a Maths, Science and Design Tech girl), and I’m not one to put myself in the spotlight. I cringe at the thought of anyone else reading what I write. But I figured that with all these words in my head, maybe it would help to get them out. If it sounds like I’m just jumbled in a note on my phone at 1 am—that’s because that is basically what this is.
I started this because I wanted something creatively fulfilling without pressure or a to-do list, something which requires less energy than a physical crafty activity. Between my corporate job and my small creative business, I have barely any time or energy left for things that don’t come with deadlines or financial pressure. Lately, I’ve been struggling with motivation, with energy, with just… life. This is my way of trying to untangle all that a bit.
So I’m going to write as if no one is reading. Right now, I’m curled up on the sofa with my two cats, Archie and Luna, wearing pyjamas and a fuzzy jumper that my boyfriend describes as ‘ugly’, with my hair all over the place and my face unwashed. But I have a pistachio hot chocolate, I am paracetamol-ed up for my headache, and I am happy enough.

My babies, Archie and Luna.
I will not be posting consistently or regularly, heck no. Let’s be honest, I am an introvert; I will only have a streak of inspiration or feel up to sharing once in a blue moon. Inspiration doesn’t strike on a schedule, motivation even less so. Some days I feel like doing nothing. Some days I feel like spilling my brain onto a page. This blog is for those latter days.
When I do post, it might be one of a number of things that make me feel warm, fuzzy, and happy—random thoughts, cosy ideas, recipes, things to do, places to go. Pretty much whatever takes my fancy, because with a mood and energy level that goes up and down like a bloody seesaw, I have to grab inspiration when it comes. So we’ll see what this blog becomes, my guess is as good as yours.
If someone reads this and it resonates, I’m truly glad, and I hope it provides some calm and that it’s refreshing to read posts from someone who at times will admit that they can’t be bothered. If no one reads it, then it won’t matter if it’s rubbish, so no harm done.
No reels. No videos. No pretending everything is perfect. Just words, jumbled and honest, the way they come out of my head.
Welcome to The Cosy Introvert. A little untidy, imperfect space where you don’t have to be anything other than exactly who you are—even if that includes messy hair, fuzzy jumpers, and a tendency to overthink everything. Who knows if these messy ramblings will even see the light of day? (Spoiler: they have. Huzzah!)

Me and my girlie.
